A hot tub is a fantastic way to unwind after a busy day. Whether you intend to invite friends, unwind with a drink, or relax with your partner and children, a hot tub can make a fun and soothing addition to your home.
Any electrical item, such as a hot tub, can be hazardous to work on and should only be done by professional electricians, like Bengert Electric. A hot tub's electrical requirements are typically 50 or 60 amps. Some people can reduce the amperage, lowering the demand. As a result, you'll need to run a load calculation to see if your home can withstand the extra power demand. Give our electrical contractors a call, and we can discuss your options.
Each in-ground pool project has its own set of costs that must be factored into the budgeting process. Electric hook-up is one of the costs. Keep in mind that the cost of swimming pool electrical hook-ups can vary greatly from setup to setup. A typical hook-up includes wiring the pump, lighting, and a chlorinator. Each additional piece of pool equipment that must be wired raises electricity from the main panel. A replacement main panel may be required in both the case of a hot tub and a pool. Adding a sub-panel or raising the size of your local service are two choices to consider. These are only a few of the things to think about when purchasing a hot tub or pool. Give us a call if you're thinking about it or have any concerns.
